ANNOUNCEMENT: Radio star Jo Whiley is inviting you to a ‘Party In The Paddock’ on #AmazingMonday – Carlisle Racecourse’s most stylish and fun-packed day of the year. Broadcaster and Radio 2 presenter Jo will perform a special post-race DJ set as part of this summer’s fantastic Ladies Day event which takes place on Monday August 7.

Already one of the most glamorous events in Carlisle's social calendar, Ladies Day at Carlisle Racecourse is the perfect opportunity for you to to don your finery and enjoy an exclusive Ladies Day and Night. Featuring a touch of elegance and a night of superb horse racing, it is a night not to be missed!

#AmazingMonday will be filled with fashion, style and fun.

Make sure you're here early to witness the only competition of it's kind - a race day where female jockey's challenge each other to win the Durdar Trophy.

Dress to impress ladies - it's you're time to shine!

Sadly we can't allow picnics on site and please be aware that your bags may be searched upon arrival.

Complimentary Shuttle Buses will leave from inside the racecourse. Stay within the racecourse and head to the far end of the track, back towards the city centre. The buses will leave from gate 1. The buses will run until everyone has left the site, so do not worry if you can’t get on the first one! This service will start as soon as the music finishes and will continue until the site is cleared.

Please note that pre-booked taxis and mini buses, should head to the North Car Park [nearest to the City Centre] for drop off and collection only – they will only be allowed to turn right back into town upon exit.

If you are arranged to be collected from the Racecourse, please make necessary arrangements for 10.30pm.

The Restaurant is almost sold out, but give us a call on 01228 554700 to check if we have room for your party. However there are plenty of other outlets for you to purchase food from on the day. Sadly we can't allow picnics on site and please be aware that your bags may be searched upon arrival.

By road from North and South - leave M6 jct 42, follow signs for Dalston. Follow the road for approx 2 miles until you reach a staggered jct and turn right. The racecourse is approx 1 mile on the left-hand side.

From East - Take A69 or A66 to M6. Join M6 and leave at jct 42 and follow directions above.

From West - Travel along A595 following signs for Carlisle. Approx 1 mile after Thursby roundabout take right for Dalston. At T jct in Dalston turn right. Follow road until you reach Bridge End Pub. Turn left over bridge and follow signs for Durdar. When you reach next jct turn left. The racecourse is approx 1 mile on the left hand side.

By bus - On racedays, Reays operate a bus service from Carlisle Bus Station to the Racecourse. Buses run 90 minutes and 45 minutes before the first race and return to Carlisle 5 minutes and 35 minutes after the last race. The cost is £1.60 each way.

By rail from Carlisle station, the Stagecoach, 01228 597222, operate a bus service to Durdar, route 65 or 66. Alternatively the racecourse is only a short taxi ride away.

By air Carlisle Airport is approximately 8 miles from the racecourse. Helicopter landing at the racecourse by prior arrangement only. Contact Sue Ellis on 01228 554700 or
