Wray Castle

Details

Wray Castle Grounds offer a great place for a stroll with amazing views of the local fells and access to Windermere Lake shore, all year round. There are some magnificent specimen trees to look at, and lovely picnic spots too.

If you're on your way to completing your National Trust '50 things to do before you're 11 ¾', then our children's activity area will be just the thing - there's den building, a rope swing and tunnels to crawl through!

There are some footpaths, but expect rough ground, grass, mud and generally a countryside environment - sturdy footwear is recommended, especially when it's been raining.

Why not come here by boat, and make the journey part of your visit? Windermere Lakes Cruises offer a boat service to Wray Castle jetty - check the Windermere Lake Cruises website for details - www.windermere-lakecruises.co.uk.

This is a newly opened National Trust property, so please check the website for more information.
