Kalle-Pekka Koponen, a Finnish cellist currently on the exchange programme at the Royal Academy of Music in London, opens our Young Artists strand – a major new endeavour supported by the Patrons of LDSM. He brings us a chronological sweep of duo sonatas and a work from his homeland's most famous composer, before Andrew's troika of solo piano arrangements prepares us for Paganini's outrageous virtuoso variations on 'Dal tuo stellato soglio' from Rossini's Moses in Egypt. For more Gershwin arrangements, see Mon 7th morning and afternoon.
